This Class B CDL Program is a one week 60-hour course (including 20 hours of online training) designed specifically for drivers seeking a Class B Commercial Driver's License. This program meets the most recent Federal Motor Carrier Administration's (FMCSA) Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) regulations. This training is specifically for drivers who will operate a non-combination commercial vehicle (CMV), often referred to as a straight truck. This Class B CDL training will include operating a cmv with airbrakes and a manual transmission
This CDL course covers the three areas required by the Federal Motor Carriers Association (FMCSA): theory, range and road. The total in person class is 40 hours (5 days).
- Entry Level Driver Training
- This training utilizes an online platform which can be completed by the students on their own time, at their own pace
- The time required to complete training can vary by individual but is generally 15-20 hours
- Range Exercises
- This includes performing a proper pre-trip and post-trip
- Back maneuvers including straight back, offset back and alley dock back
- Behind the wheel on road training
- Students learn to, and practice, safely operating a vehicle on the road in live traffic
The course fees include all training materials and truck use, including testing at the DOT.
Scheduling will be determined based on student need and school availability.
Pre-requisites: Students must have a valid North Dakota CDL Learners Permit, DOT medical clearance, motor vehicle report (MVR), proof of a clear drug test and must have completed the online modules prior to class start date. |
